Power Distribution Principle

NOTE:
  • One PM outputs a maximum of 2200 W power. You can configure PMs based on the required power.
  • PMs work in N+1 (N >= 1) backup mode. Each PM uses two channels of power inputs with different power sources, in the backup form of A1 and B1, A2 and B2, and so on.
  • Note that different power sources must be provided for PMs on planes A and B so that one can provide power when the other becomes faulty.
  • To facilitate further expansion, configure the PMs and install power cables in ascending order of PM slot numbers.

Cable and Terminal Specifications

The PDF requires protection components to ensure that the rated current of each channel is not less than 63 A. The following table shows the cable and terminal specifications.

Installing DC PMs and Power Cables

Do not install power cables when the power is on.

  1. Install DC PMs.

  2. Route power cables along the cable ladder to the chassis.
  3. Remove plastic covers on connection boxes of power modules.
  4. Connect one end of each power cable to the corresponding terminal and the other end to the PDF.
  5. After connecting power cables, restore the plastic covers to their original positions.
  6. Use cable ties to bundle the cables every 150 mm (5.91 in.) upwards from the bottom and secure the cables to the vertical cable trough.
  7. Attach permanent labels 20 mm (0.79 in.) to both ends of each ground cable.

NOTE:

If the NE40E-X16A is installed in an N68E cabinet, route power cables downwards, as shown in the following figure.

NOTE:

To ensure that the power cable is an appropriate length, perform the following steps:

  1. Prepare a power cable with a length longer than the distance between the power module and PDF.
  2. Install a terminal on one end of the power cable and connect the terminal to the device.
  3. Route the power cable, bind it to the vertical cable trough, and route it to the PDF. Cut any excess length from the cable. Install a terminal on the other end of the power cable and connect the terminal to the PDF.
