Installing the NE40E-X3 in a Cabinet
Use handles on the top of the NE40E-X3 to lift and carry it. Do not use handles of any other module.
The following figure shows how to move the NE40E-X3.
For better demonstration of the installation procedures, the cabinet in the figures has the front and rear doors and side panels removed.
- Install guide rails.Figure 13-11 Installing guide rails
If you use a third-party cabinet, you can install adjustable guide rails in the cabinet. Fix the guide rails into the mounting bar through the positioning pins at the front and rear ends of the guide rails. Then, fix the front and rear ends through M6 screws.
NOTE:
- Identify the left and right guide rails, and the front and rear ends of each guide rail according to the L/F and R/F flags on the guide rails. Install the guide rails in the correct direction.
- Ensure that the front and rear ends of each guide rail are on the same horizontal plane.
The third-party cabinet you use must meet the following requirements:
- It must be a 19 inch cabinet that meets the IEC standard.
- The installation surface of the cabinet must have a mounting hole with dimensions no less than 9.0 mm * 9.0 mm (0.354 in. * 0.354 in.).
- Distance between front and rear mount bars: 500-850 mm (19.68-33.46 in.) (21242246).
- The weight of the chassis applicable to this guide rail is not more than 425 kg.

NOTE:
- The side the top of which has ground screws is the rear of a Huawei N68E cabinet.
- The bottom of each guide rail must be aligned with the scale on the mounting rail.
- Make sure that the clearance between the guide rails and the cabinet bottom is at least 1U (1.75 in.).
- 1 U = 44.45 mm (1.75 in.)
- Determine where to install floating nuts. Install floating nuts
on the mounting rails.
NOTE:
- DC chassis: secure floating nuts to the third and 10th holes above the guide rail on each mounting rail.
- AC chassis: secure floating nuts to the third and 13th holes above the guide rail on each mounting rail.

- Install mounting ears on the NE40E-X3.
NOTE:
If the distance (L) from the mounting rail to the inner side of the chassis' front door is in the range from 115 mm (4.53 in.) to 125 mm (4.92 in.), install the mounting ears frontwards. If the distance (L) from the mounting rail to the inner side of the chassis' front door is in the range from 90 mm (3.54 in.) to 100 mm (3.94 in.), install the mounting ears backwards.

- Place the NE40E-X3 on the
guide rails of the cabinet and push it into the cabinet. Use M6 panel
screws to secure NE40E-X3 in the
cabinet.
The following figure shows how to install the NE40E-X3 in the cabinet.
