NOTE:

For better demonstration of the installation procedures, the cabinet in the figures has the front and rear doors and side panels removed.

  1. Install guide rails.
    Figure 12-9 Installing guide rails

If you use a third-party cabinet, you can install adjustable guide rails in the cabinet. Fix the guide rails into the mounting bar through the positioning pins at the front and rear ends of the guide rails. Then, fix the front and rear ends through M6 screws.

    NOTE:
    • Identify the left and right guide rails, and the front and rear ends of each guide rail according to the L/F and R/F flags on the guide rails. Install the guide rails in the correct direction.
    • Ensure that the front and rear ends of each guide rail are on the same horizontal plane.
    • The third-party cabinet you use must meet the following requirements:

      • It must be a 19 inch cabinet that meets the IEC standard.
      • The installation surface of the cabinet must have a mounting hole with dimensions no less than 9.0 mm * 9.0 mm (0.354 in. * 0.354 in.).
      • Distance between front and rear mount bars: 500-850 mm (19.68-33.46 in.) (21242246).
      • The weight of the chassis applicable to this guide rail is not more than 425 kg.

    NOTE:
    • The side the top of which has ground screws is the rear of a Huawei N68E cabinet.
    • The bottom of each guide rail must be aligned with the scale on the mounting rail.
    • Make sure that the clearance between the guide rails and the cabinet bottom is at least 1U (1.75 in.).
    • 1 U = 44.45 mm (1.75 in.)
  2. Determine where to install floating nuts. Install floating nuts on the mounting rails.

  3. Place the NE40E-X3A on the guide rails of the cabinet and push it into the cabinet. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the captive screws to secure NE40E-X3A in the cabinet.
