This section lists the PEM and cable specifications, and current parameters of each circuit breaker and each power line for the PDF.

For protecting power supplies of different levels, the current of the circuit breaker on the user side should be equal to or greater than that of the circuit breaker of the power module circuit breaker (70 A).

For optimal configuration, each DC power line provides a minimum of 70 A (-48 V) current.

Installing Power Cables

To install power cables, perform the following steps:

  1. Attach temporary labels to both ends of each power cable.
  2. Route power cables along the cable ladder and lay them on the NE40E-X8.
  3. Remove the plastic covers from the power modules' connection boxes. Connect power cables to the corresponding terminals at one end, as shown in 1 and 2 in Figure 11-11, and to the PDF at the other end.
  4. After connecting power cables, re-install the protective covers.
  5. Use cable ties to bundle the cables every 150 mm (5.91 in.) upwards from the bottom end and secure the cables to the cable tray.
  6. Attach permanent labels 20 mm (0.79 in.) from both ends of each ground cable.

NOTE:

To ensure that the power cable is of sufficient length, perform the following steps:

  1. Prepare a power cable with a length longer than the distance between the power module and PDF.
  2. Install a terminal on one end of the power cable and connect the terminal to the device.
  3. Route the power cable, bind it to the cable tray, and cut any excess length from the cable. Install a terminal on the other end of the power cable and connect the terminal to the PDF.
