Application Scenarios for Virtual Cluster
The main application scenario for a virtual cluster is DCI (Date Center Interconnect), being used to replace traditional dual-system cluster protection. Deploying a virtual cluster in such scenarios can greatly simplify network design, reducing network O&M manpower and costs.
An example of the traditional dual-system protection networking solution is provided in the following figure.
In this scenario, the following must be deployed: six PWs, a dual-system VRRP, E-Trunk, and MPLS TE. The solution is therefore highly complex, requiring skilled O&M personnel to maintain.
An example of a virtual cluster networking solution is provided in the following figure.
Between the two DCs in this scenario, only one PW and MPLS TE need to be deployed. This greatly simplifies the protection solution, configuration, and maintenance.
