Example for Updating a GTL File

Example for Updating a GTL File

This section provides configuration procedures for updating a GTL on a device. This allows the device to use GTL-controlled resource and function items.

Networking Requirements

If the GTL file on a device expires or more features are required on the device, you can replace or update the GTL file. The GTL is not activated in the initial state, and therefore does not take effect in the system.

As shown in Figure 22-7, the GTL file of Device A cannot meet customer's requirements and needs to be updated. Huawei has provided an updated GTL file for the customer to load onto Device A.

  • The GTL files on the AMB and SMB must be the same.

Configuration Roadmap

The configuration roadmap is as follows:

  1. Upload the GTL file to the storage medium on the AMB.
  2. Activate the GTL file.
  3. Verify the configuration.

Data Preparation

To complete the configuration, you need the following data:

  • Name of the GTL file, which is license.dat in this example
  • GTL file storage path on the AMB, which is 0/17#home:/ in this example

  1. Upload the GTL file matching the system software.

    # Configure Device A as an FTP server.
    <HUAWEI> system-view
    [~HUAWEI] sysname DeviceA
    [*HUAWEI] commit
    [~DeviceA] ftp server enable
Info: Enabling the FTP server configuration succeeded.
    [*DeviceA] aaa
    [*DeviceA-aaa] local-user user1 password cipher Hello-huawei123
    [*DeviceA-aaa] local-user user1 service-type ftp
    [*DeviceA-aaa] local-user user1 ftp-directory cfcard:/
    [*DeviceA-aaa] commit
    [~DeviceA-aaa] quit
    [~DeviceA] quit
After the configuration is complete, run the display local-user command to view user information.
    <DeviceA> display local-user
