Function Overview

Function Overview

IF-MIB contains a group of managed objects related to the general interfaces of network devices. These managed objects are applicable to all the network interfaces, unrelated to communications media and protocol type on these interfaces. The IF-MIB also defines managed objects designated for special media and bottom-layer protocol stack (the sub-layer or layers below it).

The NMS can query statistics and set network properties through this MIB.

The root node of the IF-MIB is:

iso(1).org(3).dod(6).internet(1).mgmt(2).mib-2(1).interfaces(2)

At present, the MIB supports the ifNumber and ifTableLastChange node.
