Setting Server Parameters
To enable video communications, the H.323 or SIP server parameters must be specified for the endpoint. You can connect the endpoint to a cloud platform. Then the endpoint can automatically obtain the H.323 or SIP server parameters from the cloud platform to complete its configuration process. Alternatively, you can manually define the H.323 or SIP server parameters for the endpoint.

- SMC: Enter the server address of the SMC and click Activate. After the SMC is activated, the endpoint automatically obtains configuration data from the SMC.
- eSight: Enter the server address and activation code of the eSight and click Activate. After the eSight is activated, the endpoint automatically obtains configuration data from the eSight.
- Manual: Once this option is selected, the H.323 and SIP parameters appear. You can modify them manually.
Obtain the server to connect to and its settings from the administrator.
H.323 parameters Enable GK
Specifies whether your endpoint uses a GK.
- Enable: When your endpoint starts, it registers with the specified GK. An endpoint that registers with a GK can place calls to remote sites using their site numbers if the remote sites also register with GKs.
- Disable: Your endpoint does not register with the GK. To call another endpoint through H.323, your endpoint can only use the called endpoint's IP address.
NOTE:If you select Enable, you must also set GK registration mode, GK address, E.164, H.323 ID, Authentication user name, Password, HTTPS mode, and Multipoint conference authentication.
The default value is Disable.
It is recommended that you set this parameter to Enable.
GK registration mode
Specifies the mode for registering your endpoint with a GK.
- Auto: Your endpoint automatically registers with an available GK on the network and obtains the GK address.
- Manual: You must set GK address, which specifies the GK with which you want your endpoint to register.
The default value is Auto.
It is recommended that you set this parameter to Manual.
GK address
Specifies the IP address or domain name of the server where the desired GK is installed.
If you set this parameter to the domain name, you must enable the DNS server and set correct mapping information on the server.
No default value is set for this parameter.
E.164
Specifies the site number for your endpoint.
If your endpoint registers with a GK, endpoints that also register with GKs can dial this site number to call your endpoint.
Enter a string of 1 to 32 digits.
H.323 ID
Specifies the name by which a GK identifies your endpoint after your endpoint registers with the GK.
The name can consist of digits, letters, and special characters, such as @ # %.
For successful GK authentication, the name defined on your endpoint must be consistent with the name predefined on the GK.
Authentication user name
Specifies the user name used for H.323 authentication.
When your endpoint registers with a GK, the GK uses this user name to authenticate the endpoint. This user name must be the same as that preset on the GK.
The name can consist of digits, letters, and special characters, such as @ # %.
To ensure communication security, encryption is recommended.
Password
Specifies the password your endpoint uses to register with a GK. The GK uses this password to authenticate your endpoint.
For successful GK authentication, the password defined on your endpoint must be consistent with the password predefined on the GK.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Use VoIP gateway
VoIP gateway address
Specifies whether your endpoint can place calls to the endpoints connected to the specified voice over IP (VoIP) gateway. If you set this parameter to Enable, you must also set VoIP gateway address.
The default value is Disable.
Huawei GK Specifies whether your endpoint uses a Huawei GK.
If the Huawei GK is disabled, some functions, such as Conference Control, are unavailable on your endpoint.
The default value is Enable.
Disable this parameter if your endpoint needs to interwork with other manufacturers' devices.
HTTPS mode
Specifies whether to upload conference information using HTTPS encryption.
If this parameter is set to disabled, your endpoint will use the Transfer Control Protocol (TCP) to upload conference information, which may be insecure.
The default value is Enable.
Multipoint conference authentication
Specifies whether to authenticate the server during calls from your endpoint.
The default value is Disable.
SIP parameters Register with server
Specifies whether your endpoint registers with a SIP server.
- Enable: An endpoint that registers with a SIP server can place calls to remote sites using their IP addresses or site numbers if the remote sites also register with SIP servers.
- Disable: Your endpoint does not register with the SIP server. To call another endpoint through SIP, your endpoint can only use the called endpoint's IP address.
NOTE:If you set this parameter to Enable, you must also set Server address, Conference service number, Site number, User name, and Password.
The default value is Disable.
Server address
Specifies the IP address or domain name of the SIP server with which you want your endpoint to register.
- If your endpoint is deployed on an enterprise on-premise network, set Server address to the IP address or domain name of the Switch Center (SC).
- If your endpoint is deployed on an IMS hosted network, set Server address to the IP address or domain name of the Call Session Control Function (CSCF) server.
- If your endpoint is deployed on an SP hosted network, set Server address to the IP address or domain name of the Unified Session Manager (USM).
If you set this parameter to the SIP server domain name, enable the domain name server (DNS). If the DNS is not enabled, enable Proxy server.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Conference service number
Specifies the conference service number for your endpoint.- On the SP hosted or IMS hosted network, the endpoint automatically obtains the conference service number, without any manual intervention.
- On IMS networks of other types, configure a conference service number for the endpoint if you want to initiate a conference from it. Obtain the conference service number from the IMS administrator.
- On the enterprise on-premises network, no conference service numbers are required.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Proxy server
Select this parameter when the network environment requires the proxy server or when Server address is set to the SIP server domain name but the configured DNS server fails to resolve this domain name or the DNS server is not configured.
If your endpoint is deployed on an SP or IMS hosted network, a proxy server is mandatory.
NOTE:If you set this parameter to Enable, you must also set Proxy server address.
The default value is Disable.
Set this parameter based on the actual SIP network environment.
Proxy server address
Specifies the address or domain name of the proxy server.NOTE:If your endpoint is deployed on an SP or IMS hosted network, set Proxy server address to the IP address or domain name of the Session Border Control (SBC).No default value is set for this parameter.
RUI
Specifies the site number for your endpoint.
If your endpoint registers with a SIP server, endpoints that also register with the SIP server can dial this site number to call your endpoint.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Enter a value containing any of the following: letters, digits, special characters such as @ # %.
User name
Specifies the user name for authentication registration.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Obtain the value of this parameter from the SIP server administrator.
Password
Specifies the password your endpoint uses to register with a SIP server.
For successful authentication on a SIP server, this password set on your endpoint must be the same as that set on the SIP server.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Obtain the value of this parameter from the SIP server administrator.
Server type
Specifies the SIP server type.
- OCS: Select this option if your endpoint registers with the Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) or Microsoft Lync Server.
- CISCO VCS: Select this option if your endpoint registers with the Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS).
- Standard: Select this option if your endpoint registers with other SIP servers.
The default value is Standard.
Transmission type
Specifies the protocol used for SIP signaling transmission.
- TCP: Use the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to implement transmission reliability.
- UDP: Use the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) to implement transmission with reduced latency.
- TLS: Use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to implement transmission security. If you select this option, you can import a root certificate when your endpoint registers with a SIP server. For details, see Importing a Certificate. Note that selecting this option may affect the call rate.
NOTE:The TLS option is available when the imported license file is an encrypted one.The default value is TLS.
If TCP or UDP is selected, the system will prompt you that this option has a security risk. To improve communication security, select TLS.
- Set Transmission type to TLS if you want to hold encrypted conferences.
SSL version
Specifies the encryption protocol used by SIP calls. The options are TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2.NOTE:This parameter is available only when Transmission type is set to TLS.The default value is TLS 1.2.
TLS Verify
Set this parameter only when Transmission type is set toTLS.
If TLS Verify is set to Enable, a third-party security certificate must be imported into the endpoint for it to register with the third-party server over TLS. If no third-party security certificates are prepared, set TLS verify to Disable.
The default value is Enable.
To improve communication security, select Enable.
BFCP transmission type
Specifies the protocol used for BFCP signaling transmission.
- Auto: Automatically select a protocol based on the BFCP tranmission type supported by the remote site.
- TCP: Use the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to implement transmission reliability.
- UDP: Use the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) to implement transmission with reduced latency.
- TLS: Use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to implement transmission security. If you select this option, you can import a root certificate when your endpoint is sharing presentation or during some conferencing operations. For details, see Importing a Certificate. Note that selecting this option may affect the call rate.
NOTE:The TLS option is available when the imported license file is an encrypted one.The default value is Auto.
If Auto, TCP, or UDP is selected, the system will prompt you that this option has a security risk. To improve communication security, select TLS.
Huawei BFCP
Specifies whether to enable the Huawei BFCP protocol when BFCP transmission type is set to Auto.- Enable: When the endpoint interworks with a Huawei device, TLS is preferentially used for BFCP transmission.
- Disable: When the endpoint interworks with a remote site, UDP is preferentially used for BFCP transmission.
The default value is Disable.
BFCP SSL version
Specifies the encryption protocol used by SIP calls. The options are TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2.NOTE:This parameter is available only when BFCP Transmission type is set to Auto or TLS.The default value is TLS 1.2.
Video request handling
Specifies how your endpoint handles video requests from a remote endpoint during a point-to-point SIP audio call or multipoint conference.
- Accept automatically: Your endpoint automatically accepts video requests from the remote endpoint.
- Reject automatically: Your endpoint automatically rejects video requests from the remote endpoint.
- Manual: Your endpoint prompts you to accept video requests from the remote endpoint.
The default value is Manual.
ICE Mode
Specifies whether your endpoint enables the Interactive Connectivity Establishment (ICE) mode. After the ICE mode is enabled, the endpoint can perform private and public network traversal using the Traversal Using Relays around NAT (TURN) server. NOTE:If you set this parameter to ICE Mode, you must also set TURN Server, TURN Server port, TURN User Name, and TURN Password.The default value is Disable.
Set this parameter based on the actual SIP network environment.
TURN Server
Specifies the IP address of the TURN server. No default value is set for this parameter.
Obtain the value of this parameter from the TURN server administrator.
TURN Server port
Specifies the port number used by the TURN server to provide the private and public network traversal service. The default value is 3478.
Obtain the value of this parameter from the TURN server administrator.
TURN User Name
TURN Password
Specifies the authentication user name and password of the TURN server. No default value is set for this parameter.
Obtain the value of this parameter from the TURN server administrator.
- Huawei Cloud: Click Activate. In the dialog box that is displayed, enter the activation code
and click OK. After the Huawei cloud service
is activated, the endpoint automatically obtains configuration data
from the Huawei cloud platform.
- Click Save.
The settings take effect immediately.
After your endpoint successfully registers with the GK or SIP server, the

icon is displayed in the lower right corner of the web interface.
