Activating Interface-specific Scenario Licenses

Activating Interface-specific Scenario Licenses

This section describes how to activate interface-specific aggregation scenario licenses and peering scenario licenses.

Usage Scenario

If a device works at the aggregation layer, run the active port-aggregation command to activate interface-specific aggregation scenario licenses before you configure services at the aggregation layer.

If a device functions as an Internet gateway, run the active port-peering command to activate interface-specific peering scenario licenses before you configure relevant services.

This configuration task is supported only on the Admin-VS.

Pre-configuration Tasks

Before activating interface-specific aggregation scenario licenses and peering scenario licenses, run the license active command to load and activate the license authorization file.

The interface-specific basic software license has been activated on the device using the active port-basic slot slot-id card card-id port port-list command.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run license

    The license view is displayed.

  3. Run active port-aggregation slot slot-id card card-id port port-list

Interface-specific aggregation scenario licenses are activated.

You can run the undo active port-aggregation slot slot-id card card-id port port-list command in the license view to deactivate interface-specific aggregation scenario licenses. After the preceding command configuration is committed, the corresponding license resources are released.

  4. Run active port-peering slot slot-id card card-id port port-list

Interface-specific peering scenario licenses are activated.

You can run the undo active port-peering slot slot-id card card-id port port-list command in the license view to deactivate interface-specific peering scenario licenses. After the preceding command configuration is committed, the corresponding license resources are released.

  5. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.

    NOTE:

The activation operation can be performed only on physical interfaces. If the system has available scenario license resources when you commit the configuration, the licenses are automatically activated on the corresponding interfaces. If there are no sufficient scenario license resources, the interfaces enter an allocated but inactive state and send the LCS_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.142.2.28 hwGtlResourceLack alarm.

Checking the Configurations

  1. After interface-specific aggregation scenario licenses are activated, check whether license activation succeeds based on the activation status.

Run the display license resource usage port-aggregation { all | slot slot-id } [ active | deactive ] command in any view to check the license activation status.

  2. After interface-specific peering scenario licenses are activated, check whether license activation succeeds based on the activation status.

Run the display license resource usage port-peering { all | slot slot-id } [ active | deactive ] command in any view to check the license activation status.
