  • If the number of collected instances exceeds the capability provided by the device, the sampling period is automatically prolonged. For example, if a user configures a sampling task to sample all interfaces within 100 ms and a total of 20 interfaces are available, the 20 interfaces can be sampled every 100 ms. If there are 200 interfaces in total, the interface sampling can be performed once a second.
  • Telemetry supports multi-level flow control to avoid heavy traffic. Each board is restricted to report data to the main control board at a rate of 60 instances every 100 ms.
  • For sampling tasks with the minimum sampling precision being 10 seconds or longer, if the CPU usage of the main control board is greater than 90%, Telemetry prolongs the sampling task period of the CPU and memory to longer than 600 seconds and suspends other sampling tasks.
  • For sampling tasks with the minimum sampling precision being 10 seconds or longer, the number of sampling instances is limited to about 200 per 10 seconds. Time required for completing a sampling task = (Total number of instances/200) x 10 seconds. However, the sampling task is always completed 10 seconds earlier due to the actual number of instances sampled at a time.

Reduce the number of instances to be collected.

Configure a long sampling period.

Data collection efficiency is reduced.

If UDP is used to send packets sampled, the destination address can only be an inband communication address. If the destination address is an outband communication address, some information sampled on the interface board cannot be reported.

Use gRPC to send the packets sampled.

Dynamic subscription does not support threshold-based filtering or customized events.

Configure static subscription.


  • Shared policies cannot be used in conditional collection.
  • For the following policies, the smallest sampling interval is 1s:

    A, Policies that contain if-match any rules

    B, Shared policies are configured on multi-NP-equipped boards.

Do not use the shared policies.

  • Shared policies cannot be used in conditional collection.
  • The interval at which packets are sent cannot be less than 1s even if the interval is set to 100 ms.
  • HQoS Telemetry collects statistics only about default SQ data.
  • Ethernet physical interfaces and trunk interfaces can only support statistics collection.
  • Slow second-level data collection is supported.



For objects that support the minimum collection interval of 100 ms, when the number of collected instances exceeds a specified upper limit of a matching level, the system automatically collects statistics about instances of a next level. If the number of instances whose data is collected within 30 seconds exceeds a specified upper limit and resources are insufficient, the excess instances are not monitored. The maximum number of instances in statistics collection of each level is as follows:
  • 20 instances at an interval of 100 ms
  • 200 instances at an interval of 1s
  • 6000 instances at an interval of 30s
