(Optional) Configuring a Revertive Switching Policy

(Optional) Configuring a Revertive Switching Policy

In static PW FRR scenarios with both the primary and secondary PWs, if the primary PW fails, traffic will be switched to the secondary PW. If the primary PW recovers, traffic will be switched back to the primary PW after a delay of 30s by default. To flexibly adjust the wait-to-restore (WTR) time, configure a revertive switching policy.

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number [ .subinterface-number ]

    The AC interface view is displayed.

  3. Run mpls l2vpn reroute { { delay delay-time | immediately } | never }

    A revertive switching policy is configured.

    Revertive switching policies are classified as:

    • Immediate switchback: Traffic is switched back to the primary PW immediately after the primary PW recovers.

    • Delayed switchback: Traffic is switched back to the primary PW after the time specified in delay-time elapses.

    • Non-revertive: Traffic is not switched back to the primary PW even if the primary PW recovers. Traffic will be switched back to the primary PW only if the secondary PW fails.

    If the remote shutdown function is configured on an Ethernet AC interface in asymmetric networking, do not use the immediate switchback policy. Otherwise, network flapping and traffic loss may occur. Configuring a revertive switching delay of not less than 30s is recommended in this situation.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
