Creating a VSI and Configuring PWs

Creating a VSI and Configuring PWs

Static VPLS allows you to manually manage and allocate VC labels.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run vsi vsi-name [ static ]

A VSI is created, and the VSI view is displayed.

A VSI name must be unique on a device.

  3. (Optional) Run tnl-policy policy-name

A tunnel policy is referenced by the VSI.

The priority of the tunnel policy imported during peer configuration is higher than the priority of the tunnel policy applied in the VSI view. If a VSI references both the tunnel policy imported during peer configuration and the tunnel policy applied in the VSI view, only the tunnel policy imported during peer configuration takes effect.

  4. Run pwsignal ldp

LDP is configured as the VSI signaling protocol, and the VSI-LDP view is displayed.

  5. Run vsi-id vsi-id

    The VSI ID is configured.

    Note that:

    • The VSI IDs for the two endpoints of a PW must be the same. Otherwise, the VSI cannot be successfully created. If the VSI IDs for the two endpoints of a PW are different, specify the negotiation-vc-id vc-id parameter in the peer command during peer configuration.

    • VSIs can only exist on PEs. If a PE has multiple VSIs, the IDs of these VSIs must be unique on the PE.

  6. Run peer peer-address [ negotiation-vc-id vc-id ] [ tnl-policy policy-name ] { static-npe | static-upe } trans transmit-label recv receive-label

A static VPLS PW is configured.

  7. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
