Physical Interface Self-Loopback

Physical interface self-loopback provides similar functions as loopback detection, can be implemented only on physical main interfaces, and does not require service configuration. See Figure 11-4.

A loop alarm is reported if packets sent from a physical interface are looped back through the interface itself. Physical interface self-loopback mainly applies to scenarios in which either local or remote loopback is configured.
