Interface Numbering Rules

On the NE08E-S9 an interface is numbered in the format of "LPU slot number/PIC number/port number". The following part describes the details:

  • Logical slot number of the system control board

    It is the logical slot number of the CXP, The logical slot number is always 0.

  • Physical interface card number

    It is the slot number of the physical interface card where service interfaces reside. The physical interface card numbers on the NE08E-S9 range from 1 to 9.

  • Port number

    The port numbers of service interfaces on a physical interface card begin with 0. Port numbering depends on the number of interfaces on the physical interface card.
