Collecting Alarm Information

Collecting Alarm Information

You can use a network management system (NMS) to collect alarm information about NEs.

Principles

  • When a device is running, it checks its health in real time. Once the device detects a fault, it generates an alarm. To minimize the impact of this alarm, collect alarm information in real time to clear this alarm.
  • Use the EMS to collect alarm information about all NEs that connect to the EMS.
  • A maximum of 1000 records are returned after each query. If no query condition is specified, the system returns the most recent 1000 records. When there are more than 1000 records, you need to query these records multiple times with the query conditions (such as the alarm generation time and the alarm clearance time) modified each time.

Using eSight to Collect Alarm Information

You can use eSight to collect alarm information about the CGP, USM, CloudMCU, TMS, ECS and UMS.

  1. Log in to eSight as the admin user.
  2. Choose Fault > Current Alarms.
  3. View and export critical and major alarms.
