Collecting eMP Fault Information

Collecting eMP Fault Information

eMP Logs store information generated when faults occur. If a fault occurs, you can view the fault information recorded in eMP logs. You can use the MainAst tool to collect logs by one click. The operation procedure is as follows:

  1. Log in to the MainAst.
  2. Add a service type.
    1. Choose Toolkit > Common > Device Manager.
      The Device Manager tab is displayed.
    2. Choose Service Type Management and click Import Service Type Package.
      The Select the Compressed File of the Service Type Package window is displayed.
    3. Select the eMP advanced preventive maintenance inspection package and click Open.
      The service type is added.
  3. Add an eMP server to be inspected.
    1. Choose Toolkit > Common > Device Manager.
      The Device Manager tab is displayed.
    2. Choose Device Management and click Add Device.
      The Add Device window is displayed.
    3. Click Add Group. In the Add Group window that is displayed, set Group name and click Create.
      Go back to the Add Device window.
    4. Set Device Name and IP Address, and then click Next.

      NOTE:

      For an eMP two-node cluster in the Linux operating system, select Dual host in the Single/Dual drop box and configure the correct floating IP address, as well as the name and IP address of each node.


      Go to the User Info tab.
    5. On the User Info tab, set User Name, Password/Key, and Protocol, and then click Test.

      NOTE:

      Complete parameter configurations as prompted.


      The Connection Test window is displayed.
    6. After the Connect success message is displayed in the Connection Test window, click Close.
      Go back to the Add Device window and click Next.
    7. Go to the Service Info tab and click Add service type.
      The Add service window is displayed.
    8. Select required service types and click OK.
      Go back to the Add Device window.
    9. Click Finish.
      The Create device success message is displayed.
  4. Collect fault information.
    1. Choose Toolkit > Common > FaultInfo Collect.
      Go to the FaultInfo Collect tab.
    2. Click Create Collect Task.
      The Create Collect Task window and Prompt window are displayed.
    3. Click Close to close the Prompt window.
    1. Select all options on the right part of the Create Collect Task window and click Create and Execute.
      Go back to the FaultInfo Collect tab.

      You can view the progress of the fault information collection task on this tab.

  5. When the Status on the FaultInfo Collect tab is Success, click View Collect Result.
    The View Collect Result window is displayed.

    You can view the result of the fault information collection on this tab.
