Using the VTS Tool to Collect Fault Information

Using the VTS Tool to Collect Fault Information

If the VTS tool is deployed, use the VTS tool to collect alarms, operation logs, MML configuration information, performance measurement results, and run logs. However, using the VTS tool to collect fault information is time-consuming.

Requisites

  • The VTS tool has been installed. For details, see Performing Health Check Using the VTS Performing Health Check Using the VTS Performing Health Check Using the VTS.
  • Adaptation packages of the required versions have been installed in the VTS tool for the CGP, USM, SMC2.0, SC, CloudMCU, ViewPoint 8000 series MCU, VP9000 series MCU, RSE6500, TE10, TE20, TE30&TE40&TE50&TE60, and ECS.
  • The CGPOMU NE has been added to the VTS tool.

Procedure

  1. Start the VTS tool.

    1. Start the VTS tool using either of the following ways:
      • Double-click.
      • Double-click runvts.vbs in the VTS directory.
    2. On the Application page of the VTS tool, double-click. If the message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" is displayed, click Continue to this website (not recommended).

  2. Click Task Management. On the Task view tab page, choose Create Task > Based on Scenario, as shown in Figure 2-1. The Scenario Task Creation Wizard page is displayed.

  3. Select the information collection scenario, as shown in Figure 2-2. Set the information collection time range to cover the day before a fault occurs. If you cannot determine the time point when a fault occurs, use the default value to collect information generated in the last three days.
