Collecting RSE6500 Fault Information

The RSE6500 allows the administrator to view operation log on RSE6500 web pages to learn about the system running status and to perform maintenance operations if required. Log files can be exported through the RSE web page or through command lines.

Context

Table 21-1 lists the fields in operation log.

Generation Time

Indicates the time an operation log is generated.

Log Level

Indicates the level of an operation log. The options are DEBUG, INFO, WARNING, ERROR, and FATAL.

Content

Records the operation that a user performed on RSE6500 web pages, for example, logging in or out, uploading or downloading a video feed, or upgrading the software.

Exporting Log Files Through the RSE Web Page

  1. Open the web browser, enter the RSE IP address in the address box, and press Enter. On the login page that is displayed, enter the user name and password (the default user name and password are admin and Change_Me respectively).

    If it is your first login, you are prompted to change the password before login.

  2. Choose System > System Settings > Export > Log File. On the page for exporting log files, select log files to be exported and click Export Log.

    The log files are exported to your local PC.

Exporting Log Files Through Command Lines (in Telnet or SSH Mode)

  1. Configure the FTP server by referring to the HUAWEI RSE6500 V100R001C00 Upgrade Guide.

    If the FTP server has been configured, skip this step.

  2. Open the CLI using SSH or Telnet, and enter the user name and password. The default user name and password are admin and Change_Me respectively. You are advised to change the password upon your first login.
  3. Run the system-view ftp-server command to con the IP address of the FTP server.

    RSE6500>system-view ftp-server 
    ftp server ip addr{ipv4/v6 address}[192.168.1.1]:192.168.26.3 
    ftp server port{1~65535}[21]:21 
    ftp server user name{string, min:1 max:256}[update]:rse 
    ftp server password{string, min:1 max:256}[******]:*** 
     
    set config success!

  4. Run the upgrade export command, select 5 on the CLI for exporting log files, and press Enter.

    The log files are exported into the root directory of the FTP server.
