Changing the Account or Password for SMC2.0 Service Operation

Changing the Account or Password for SMC2.0 Service Operation

You can use the ChangeServiceCredentials.exe tool to change the account or password for SMC2.0 service operation. This operation helps improve the security of the SMC2.0 operation account.

Background

The normal running of the SMC2.0 operating system involves the following three parts: Web, background service, and database. They each have their own operation accounts. The system allocates and sets the default accounts for them when the system is deployed for the first time. These accounts have a certain coupling relationship with the server environment.

You can use the ChangeServiceCredentials.exe tool (which can be downloaded from http://support.huawei.com) to manage SMC2.0 operation accounts or passwords as required. The account type modification is subject to application scenarios. For details, see Table 6-1 and Table 6-2.

NOTE:

An account and its password cannot be both changed. The password can be changed only when the account is determined.

Description

Single-node and cluster

The ChangeServiceCredentials.exe tool can be used to set the password of the SMC2.0 operation account after the account is determined.

DR

In the DR scenario, the active and standby SMC2.0s use the same password to synchronize database data. Therefore, the service running passwords of the active and standby SMC2.0s must be the same.

Procedure

Download ChangeServiceCredentials.exe from http://support.huawei.com and decompress it. For details, see Guidance.docx in the ChangeServiceCredentials folder.
