Switch Security Maintenance

Switch Security Maintenance

You must periodically check switch security to ensure security of the data packets that the CloudEC on-premises conference-only solution receives.

Checking Basic Switch Information

Basic switch information can be collected in all views. If invalid switch information is detected, handle it in time.

You must check the following information:

  • Switch version
  • Switch clock
  • End user
  • Initial configuration
  • Configuration of the current view
  • Current configuration
  • Patch information
  • Debug switch status

Checking the Switch Running Status

You must check the switch running status to detect potential risks.

You must check the following information:

  • System alarms
  • Log information
  • Memory usage
  • CPU status

Checking the ACL

The Access Control List (ACL) consists of rules for filtering data packets based on their source addresses, destination addresses, and port numbers. Each rule consists of the permit and deny statements.

You must check the ACL to verify that the switch can receive correct data packets.

NOTE:

To check the ACL, refer to the related switch inspection checklists.
