Disabling the Maintenance Function of the GE0 and GE1 Ports

Context

GE0, GE1, and FE0 ports on the MCU provide either service functions or maintenance functions. To improve system security, disable the maintenance functions of the GE0 and GE1 ports.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the MCU from PuTTY.
  2. At the <HUAWEI VP9650> prompt, enter system-view telnet-config and press Enter.
  3. At the [HUAWEI VP9650-Telnet] prompt, enter enable-network-login 0 and press Enter.

    The following information is displayed:

    Warning: are you sure to set interface login mode ?(y/n)

    NOTE:
    To display instructions for the enable-network-login command, enter enable-network-login ? and press Enter.
    <mode>               - mode{0:only enable FE0, 1:only enable GE0, 2:only enable GE1 3:enable all interface, default:3}
    

  4. Enter y and press Enter.
  5. At the [HUAWEI VP9650-Telnet] prompt, enter quit and press Enter.
  6. At the [HUAWEI VP9650] prompt, enter quit and press Enter.
  7. At the <HUAWEI VP9650> prompt, enter save and press Enter.

    The following information is displayed:

    are you sure to save config?(y/n)

  8. Enter y and press Enter.
  9. At the <HUAWEI VP9650> prompt, enter reboot and press Enter to restart the MCU.
