root

User root uses the SNMP protocol to manage and maintain multi-function switch boards, for example, checking alarms and performance measurement.

Log in to the VP9600 series MCU using VM console and run the su - root command to switch to the root user.

Run the passwd command and change the password as prompted.

The default password is Change_Me.

sync

Account used for synchronizing service data.

The user is forbidden to log in and it is recommended that the password be not changed. To change the password temporarily, log in as the root user, you can run the passwd User name command as prompted. After the operation, run the passwd -d User name command to delete the password to ensure the user security in the MCU main process.

shutdown

Account used for shutting down the server.

halt

Account used for stopping system services.

bin

Account that meets the Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) standard.

daemon

Account used by the Daemon service.

adm

Account used by the adm service.

lp

Account used by the printing service.

mail

Account used by the mail service.

Account used for modify the grub program.

  1. Run the grub2-mkpasswd-pbkdf2 command to generate an encrypted password.
    NOTE:

    The default password is Huawei12#$. You are advised to change the default password and periodically update your password.

  2. Replace the encryption password in the /boot/EFI/grub2/grub.cfg file with that generated in the previous step.
  3. Save file and reboot MCU.

Common user account that is used for logging in to the MCU through the serial port, SSH, or Telnet and has the lowest rights level.

VTS

Account that is used for VTS authentication to ensure normal communication between the MCU and VTS.

Log in to the VP9660 series MCU web page, choose System > Connection Management, modify VTS Health Check Password, and click Save.

administrator

Change_Me

Account used for authentication when the MCU is upgraded through the SMC2.0 or the SMC2.0 sends automatic check requests as a client.

User name, authentication password, and encryption password used by the VP9600 Series MCU to connect to the trap server when sending alarm packets.

  1. Log in to the VP9660 series MCU web interface and choose System > SNMP.

Account of the SNMP. The information includes the user name, authentication password, and encryption password.
