Configuring SNMPv3

Configuring SNMPv3

SMC2.0 can implement network management system (NMS) functions by receiving traps from RSE6500 over the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) protocol. RSE6500 supports both SNMPv2 and SNMPv3. To ensure device communication security, however, you are advised to change SNMP to SNMPv3, keep only an SNMPv3 account, and delete unnecessary accounts.

  1. Log in to RSE6500 through PuTTY as the admin user.
  2. Run the following command:

    system-view snmp-config

  3. Configure SNMPv3 information according to the requirements listed in Table 6-4.

The following information is displayed, indicating that SNMPv3 information is successfully configured:

    set config success!
