Removing Viruses

If viruses are detected, Huawei local representative office and the customer should jointly work out a solution to remove the viruses.

During virus removal, running applications must be stopped. Therefore, remove viruses when service traffic is low and verify that services are not interrupted after virus removal.

The operation procedure is as follows:

  1. Stop the running applications.
  2. Back up data.

    Important data must be backed up to multiple computers or storage devices.

  3. Remove viruses.

    Viruses can be removed in the following modes:

    1. Formatting hard disks and re-installing the operating system

      In this mode, viruses can be completely removed.

      This mode is applicable to the servers where the eSpace and SoftConsole clients are installed with the assistance of Huawei technical support engineers.

    2. Using antivirus rescue CDs

      In this mode, viruses may not be completely removed, or virus-infected programs are unavailable after virus removal.

      This mode is applicable to the servers where the UC application system is installed with the assistance of Huawei technical support engineers.

You are advised to periodically check for operating system patches, database patches, and Huawei patches. Contact engineers at Huawei local representative office to install patches. Ensure that data is backed up before patch installation.
