Destroying User Data Safely

User data that is stored on devices must be destroyed when the devices are repaired or discarded.

To completely destroy user data on the NE, perform the following operations:

  1. Uninstall the NE VM. For details about how to uninstall the VM, see Appendix: Uninstalling and Reinstalling NEs.
  2. Erase storage media data. For details, see the "Erasing Storage Media Data" section in the production documentation of the corresponding hardware server and the "Disk Data Destruction" section in the product documentation of the corresponding disk array server.
