Configuring Security Levels

Configuring Security Levels

To ensure SC security, configure the SSL security level on the SC so that the SC can transmit data in a more secure way.

The SSLv3 has vulnerabilities, making it easier for hackers to obtain transmission data through attacks. Therefore, enabling the SSLv3 may result in risks of transmission data leakage.

  1. Log in to the SMC2.0 web interface.
  2. Choose Devices > Switch Centers.
  3. Select the SC where security levels are to be configured and set SSL security level, as shown in Figure 6-4.

    Figure 6-4 SC modification page

    • The default value of SSL security level is TLS 1.1 or later. The priority sequence of available security levels is as follows:

      TLS 1.2> TLS 1.1 or later> TLS 1.0 or later> SSLv3 or later.

    • The TLS 1.0 or later security level supports TLS1.0, TLS1.1, and TLS1.2. However, TLS1.0 is an early version and is reserved only for forward compatibility. If the forward compatibility is not required, you are advised not to enable TLS 1.0 or later.
