Web Access Control

You can access the SMC2.0, CloudMCU, VP9600 series MCU, and RSE6500 in web access mode. The following describes methods to control the web access for each product:

SMC2.0 Web Access Control

The SMC2.0 controls web accesses using the following methods:

  • Keep the session connection using the Session + Cookie method.

    For security purposes, the system logs a user out of the web interface after a time period of inactivity (to set the time period, on the SMC2.0 web interface, choose System > Settings > Security Policy and set Automatically log out if no operation is performed in). To access the system again, the user needs to re-log in.

  • Allow users to proactively log out of the web interface.

    Click at the upper right corner. The system returns to the login page.

  • A user can log in to the web interface from only one client at a time.

CloudMCU Web Access Control

The CloudMCU uses Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) security connection. HTTPS is a secure and reliable HTTP channel. The following describes the methods to control web access:
  • Keep the session connection using the Session + Cookie method.

    For security purposes, the system logs a user out of the web interface and returns to the login page after 30 minutes of inactivity. To continue operation, the user must log in to the web interface again.

    To set the time period for automatic logout, log in to the web interface, choose System > Security and set Web user session expiration time (1-240 min).

  • Allow users to proactively log out of the web interface.

    Click the user name at the upper right corner of the web interface and choose Exit. The system returns to the login page.

  • Have HTTPS enabled by default and do not allow HTTPS to be disabled.

VP9600 series MCU Web Access Control(V500R002C10)

VP9660, VP9650 and VP9630 MCUs use the HTTPS security connection. HTTPS is a secure and reliable HTTP channel. The following describes the methods to control web access from endpoints:
  • Your account will be locked if you enter incorrect passwords for five consecutive times. The system unlocks your account 3 minutes later.
  • Keep the session connection using the Session + Cookie method.

    For security purposes, the system logs a user out of the web interface and returns to the login page after 15 minutes of inactivity. To continue operation, the user must log in to the web interface again.

    To set the time period for automatic logout, log in the VP9600 series MCU with a SSH tool, entersystem-view web-user-logout to config web user logout (5–240 min), and entersave to save the configuration.

  • Allow users to proactively log out of the web interface.

    Click at the upper right corner of the web interface and choose Exit. The system returns to the login page.

  • Have HTTPS enabled by default and do not allow HTTPS to be disabled.
    The MCU provides an option for enabling or disabling HTTP. The MCU allows the switch between HTTPS and HTTP.
    • When HTTP is disabled, only HTTPS can be used to log in to the web interface.
    • When HTTP is enabled, both HTTP and HTTPS can be used to log in to the web interface.

VP9600 series MCU Web Access Control(V600R019C00)

VP9660, VP9650 and VP9630 MCUs use the HTTPS security connection. HTTPS is a secure and reliable HTTP channel. The following describes the methods to control web access from endpoints:
  • Your account will be locked if you enter incorrect passwords for five consecutive times. The system unlocks your account 5 minutes later.
  • Keep the session connection using the Session + Cookie method.

    For security purposes, the system logs a user out of the web interface and returns to the login page after 30 minutes of inactivity. To continue operation, the user must log in to the web interface again.

    To set the time period for automatic logout, log in to the web interface, choose System > Security and set Web user session expiration time (1-240 min).

  • Allow users to proactively log out of the web interface.

    Click the user name at the upper right corner of the web interface and choose Exit. The system returns to the login page.

RSE6500 Web Access Control

RSE6500 uses the HTTPS security connection. HTTPS is a secure and reliable HTTP channel. The following describes the methods to control web access:
  • Keep the session connection using the Session + Cookie method.

    For security purposes, the system logs a user out of the web interface and returns to the login page after 10 minutes of inactivity. To continue operation, the user must log in to the web interface again.

  • Allow users to proactively log out of the web interface.

    Click at the upper right corner of the web interface. The system returns to the login page.

  • According to the license plan, an RSE6500 supports a maximum of 2000 concurrent online users.

  • After you log in to the RSE6500 web interface, the system displays the IP address and time of your last login and the IP address, time, and attempt times of your failed logins.
