Trends and Challenges

With the upgrade of network technologies, communication technology (CT) products are transiting from professional high-end applications to affordable applications in enterprises and industries and gradually turning to be a part of IT infrastructure. In this situation, the next-generation information and communications technology (ICT) comes into being.

In the technical and application transformations, higher requirements are posed on better communication experience, collaboration among multiple communication capabilities, easy integration of various service systems, and low-cost cloud-based deployment.

Nowadays, enterprises face the following challenges when using ICT to promote business development:

  • Separated communication means hinder cross-regional communication.
    • Separated communication tools: phone, email, IM, data conference, and video conference

    • Branches in different places

    • Inconvenient communication with external personnel

  • Unreachability during on the go lowers work efficiency.
    • Fixed location and terminals, lack of flexibility

    • No real-time, efficient communication with internal employees while on the go, in hotels, or at customer sites

  • Complex service processes increase the difficulty in integration.
    • Too many links in the service process and separated systems involved

    • Complex open interfaces, making integration difficult

  • Difficult management increases O&M costs.
    • Independent systems, leading to complex management

    • Hard to integrate, deploy, and use

    • Complex upgrade and capacity expansion
