Inconsistent Patch Status Between the OMU and the Host


The DSP PATCH command is successfully run in the MML Command - CGP window of the client and Check module status is displayed as Inconsistent in the command output.

Possible Causes

  • A patch-related command with forcible parameters is run. For example, in the forcible deletion command RMV PATCH, FORCE is set to YES.
  • The patch is not successfully restored when the processes are reset.

Fault Diagnosis

The CGP provides a mechanism for automatically synchronizing the patch status in between the OMU and host. The CGP detects the patch status every 10 minutes. On detecting an inconsistency of patch status in between the OMU and the host, the CGP automatically synchronizes the patch status. The synchronization principle is as follows: the patch status on the OMU determines whether the patch is required on the host; when the patch exists on both sides, the patch status on the host is used.

When the patch status is inconsistent, you can check whether the patch status can be automatically synchronized by the periodical synchronization mechanism. If the patch status cannot be synchronized, collect information for identifying faults.


  1. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes, after the processes are reset and the automatic synchronization is complete, run DSP PATCH to display the patch status.
  2. Check whether Check module status is Consistent in the command output.

    • Yes: No further action is required.
    • No: Go to 3.

  3. Use Information Collection Tool to collect items in Common fault analysis scenario.
  4. Contact Huawei technical support engineers to rectify the fault.
