Possible Causes

  • The browser has a compatibility issue.
  • Characters on the web page are not defined, are invalid, or have other problems.

Troubleshooting Method

  • Use mainstream and stable browser versions instead of outdated or unstable versions.
  • Disable script debugging.


  1. Use a browser of the supported version to open the page.

    The uPortal supports the following browsers: Google Chrome 46.0 and later, Mozilla Firefox 41.0 and later, and Internet Explorer 9.0, 10.0, and 11.0.

  2. For Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options. In the Browsing area on the Advanced tab page, select Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other), as shown in Figure 10-7.

  3. Click OK. Restart Internet Explorer for the setting to take effect.
