Connection to the MML Server Failed During the CGP Process Upgrade


When the CGP process is being upgraded, the message Failed to execute UPG ME%%RETCODE =81 Can not connect to MML server is displayed.

Possible Causes

The mmlserver service is not started.

Fault Diagnosis

Upgrade the CGP process after the system restarts the mmlserver service.


  1. Wait for one minute.


    The system periodically detects the process status. When detecting a process fault, the system automatically restarts.

  2. Click Retry on the interface of the upgrade tool, and check whether the fault is rectified.

    • Yes: No further action is required.
    • No: Go to 3.

  3. Use the Information Collection Tool to collect items in Common Fault Analysis Scenario.
  4. Contact Huawei technical support engineers to rectify the fault.
