VMs Running a Standard OS Are Faulty


In the MML Command - CGP or MML Command - ME window, DSP VM is run. The Availability state for a VM in the command output is Unknown, as illustrated in Figure 3-16.

Possible Causes

  • The VM OS is faulty.
  • The VM disk is faulty.


  1. Log in to the vCenter and choose Inventory > Hosts and Clusters. Right-click the faulty VM and choose Open Console.
  2. On the management console, click the icon highlighted in Figure 3-17 to reboot the VM. Click to enable keyboard operations.

  3. When the interface illustrated in Figure 3-18 is displayed, press F12 to PXE boot the VM.

  4. After the VM is PXE booted, the VM automatically starts up from its local disks. After the startup succeeds, as illustrated in Figure 3-19, check whether the VM is running properly.

    • Yes: No further action is required.
    • No: Go to 5.
