System Displays an Upgrade Tool Update Failure or System Being Upgraded


When you use File Transfer Protocol (FTP) service to upload the version package or remote patch package, the system remains loading these packages and displays Failed to renew upgtool or The system is being upgraded.

Possible Causes

If the upgrade tool is available in the remote patch package or version package, the original upgrade tool is updated during the package uploading.

When the system is being upgraded or a patch is being installed, these packages fail to be uploaded.

Fault Diagnosis



  1. Log in to OMU through web and click Patch & Upgrade Tool.
  2. Check whether a patch is being installed or the system is being upgraded.

    • Yes: Go to 3.
    • No: Go to 5.a.

  3. Click Continue or other related buttons to complete the patch installation or upgrade.

    For details about operations related to the patch installation or upgrade, see the section Patch Installation in the Patch Update Guide or Remote Patch Update Guide of the corresponding version.

  4. Return the File Transfer Service window and re-load the remote patch package or version package. Then, check whether the fault is rectified.

    • Yes: No further action is required.
    • No: Go to 5.a.

  5. Collect logs and contact technical support engineers for assistance.
    1. Use the Information Collection Tool to collect items in Common fault analysis scenario.
    2. Contact Huawei technical support engineers.
