Duration of Data Synchronization Between the OMUs is Too Long

Symptom

The synchronization duration of the HA system exceeds one hour. This is considered a long synchronization duration.

The following conditions indicate that the HA system is synchronizing data.

  • After SWP OMU is run in the MML Command - CGP window, the system displays The OMU is synchronizing data.
  • After RST SYNC is run in the MML Command - CGP window, the system displays OMU is busy now.
  • After LST SYNC is run in the MML Command - CGP window, Sync mode for files under Active/standby OMU synchronization progress is always Full sync.

Possible Causes

The synchronization duration depends on the number and size of files to be synchronized. The duration increases with the number and size of files. Generally, it lasts for about one hour. You can identify the specific cause based on the output of LST SYNC.

Fault Diagnosis

  • Check whether data synchronization is operating properly.
  • Collect the relevant information, and contact technical support engineers to rectify the fault.

Procedure

    Check whether data synchronization is operating properly.

    1. In the MML Command - CGP window of the client, run LST SYNC to query the synchronization status.
    2. Check whether Progress of the active/standby OMU synchronization is 100%.

      • Yes: Go to 3.
      • No: Go to 4.

    3. Check whether the synchronization progress is 100% for multiple times (more than three times), while the HA system is still synchronizing data.

      • Yes: Go to 5.
      • No: No further action is required.

    4. Check whether the progress of the active/standby OMU synchronization does not change for a long time (about one hour).

      • Yes: Go to 5.
      • No: No further action is required.

    Collect relevant information, and contact technical support engineers.

    1. Use the Information Collection Tool to collect items in Common fault analysis scenario.
    2. Contact Huawei technical support engineers to rectify the fault.
