Failure of Creating a Measurement Task

Symptom

After selecting a performance measurement task on the performance measurement Web client and submit, the system displays the following information:

  • The total number of measurement tasks exceeds the upper limit on system task resources. On the MML command interface of the CGP, run LST TRFTASK to query all tasks and then delete unnecessary measurement tasks.
  • The server does not respond for a long time. Please check the network.
  • System is busy now. Please try again later.
  • The system is initializing. Please wait.

Possible Causes

The system displays the message The total number of measurement tasks exceeds the upper limit on system task resources. On the MML command interface of the CGP, run LST TRFTASK to query all tasks and then delete unnecessary measurement tasks.

It indicates that the number of the registered measurement tasks has reached the maximum limit.

The system displays the message The server does not respond for a long time. Please check the network.

It indicates that the communication between the Web server and the OMU, or the communication between the OMU and the host, is interrupted because the performance measurement system is faulty.

The system displays the message System is busy now. Please try again later

It indicates that other clients are submitting measurement tasks, or one client has sent two consecutive measurement tasks within less than four seconds.

It indicates that one or several related service processes running on the host are not operating properly.

  • The system displays the message The system is initializing. Please wait.

    It indicates that the initialization of the system is not complete.

Procedure

    Perform an operation based on the fault symptom.

    1. Take an appropriate action based on the message displayed on the client.

      The system displays the message The total number of measurement tasks exceeds the upper limit on system task resources. On the MML command interface of the CGP, run LST TRFTASK to query all tasks and then delete unnecessary measurement tasks.

      Go to 2.

      The system displays the message The server does not respond for a long time. Please check the network.

      Go to 4.

      The system displays the message System is busy now. Please try again later.

      Go to 3.

      The system displays the message The system is initializing. Please wait.

      Go to 4.

      • The system displays other messages. Go to 7.

    Delete unnecessary measurement tasks.

    1. On the MML command interface of the CGP, run LST TRFTASK to query all measurement tasks. Delete unnecessary measurement tasks. (Delete preferentially measurement tasks whose calculate type is OMU if tasks whose calculate type is OMU and Host are registered.) Then, create the required measurement task again and check whether the task was successfully created.

      • Yes: No further action is required.
      • No: Go to 7.

    Wait until other clients complete the creation of measurement tasks.

    1. Wait for five seconds. Then, create the measurement task again and check whether the task was successfully created.

      • Yes: No further action is required.
      • No: Go to 7.

    Check whether the performance measurement module is operating properly.

    1. Check whether ALM-8600 Abnormal OMU Resources exists. And whether Resource name of this alarm is pm.

      • Yes: Go to 5.
      • No: Go to 7.

    2. Rectify the fault by referring to the handling procedure of the alarm ALM-8600 Abnormal OMU Resources. After the fault has been rectified, create the measurement task again and check whether the task was successfully created.

      • Yes: No further action is required.
      • No: Go to 6.

    3. Wait for five minutes. Then, create the measurement task again and check whether the task was successfully created.

      • Yes: No further action is required.
      • No: Go to 7.

    Collect the log information, and contact technical support engineers.

    1. Use the Information Collection Tool to collect items in Common fault analysis scenario.
    2. Contact Huawei technical support engineers to rectify the fault.
