MRP Interworking Fault

MRP Interworking Fault

Symptom

The MRP is faulty, and resource operations fail.

Possible Causes

  • The H.248 link for connecting to the MRP is faulty.
  • The MRP stops providing services.

Troubleshooting Method

If you use the setup tool to install the MRP, the default data is configured after the installation. In this case, the MRP is usable after being powered on. If the MRP is unusable, check the network first.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the default connection data is modified.
    1. Check the operation history and verify that you have not modified the VM, MADDR, and H.248 data on the USM using MML commands.
    2. Check the operation history and verify that you have not modified the VM, ETHIF, SIGADDR, and H.248 data on the MRP using MML commands.
    3. If the data is modified, the default network may be affected. You need to restore the default configuration on the USM and MRP.
  2. Run the DSP H248 command to check whether the H.248 link is normal.
    • Yes: Go to 3.
    • No: Go to 4.
  3. Run the DSP MGW command to check whether the MRP is running properly.
    • Yes: No further action is required.
    • No: Go to 4.
  4. Check whether port 0 is connected to the network properly.
By default, the MRP uses port 0 (first port of the server) for communication.
    • Verify that the first network port is connected to a network cable and is on the same network as the MRP VM on all servers.
    • Check whether a port fault alarm exists. If yes, clear the alarm by referring to the CGP help.
