Failed to Clear Alarms Reported by the Original Active Node After a Switchover Between the Active and Standby ECS Nodes

Failed to Clear Alarms Reported by the Original Active Node After a Switchover Between the Active and Standby ECS Nodes

Symptom

After an active/standby switchover, alarms reported by the original active node before it becomes the standby node are not cleared.

Possible Causes

  • The alarm verification function does not clear alarms if the verification object does not exist. That is, when the original active node stops providing services and cannot respond to the alarm verification function, alarms will not be cleared.
  • The CGP allocates different module numbers to hosts that provide the same service. A host can report or clear only alarms about itself. Therefore, alarms reported by the active node cannot be cleared by the standby node.

Fault Locating

  1. Log in to the HUAWEI Operation & Maintenance System and choose Alarm > Browse Alarms.
  2. Double-click an alarm. In the Alarm Details dialog box, view the name of the VM that generates the alarm in Location Info and check whether the alarm is reported by the original active or standby node.

Fault Rectification

If the alarm is reported by the original active node, ignore the alarm. No further action is required.
