An Endpoint Fails to Register with the SC Server in H.323 Mode

An Endpoint Fails to Register with the SC Server in H.323 Mode

Symptom

An endpoint fails to register with the SC server in H.323 mode.

Possible Causes

The possible causes are as follows:

  • The SC service is abnormal.
  • The network between the endpoint and the SC is faulty.
  • The registered site number, authentication user name, or authentication password is incorrect.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that the SC is online on the SMC2.0.
  2. Ensure that the site number added on the SMC2.0 is the same as that configured on the endpoint.
  3. On the web interface of the endpoint, choose Maintenance > Diagnostics and ping the IP address of the SC.
  4. Log in to the web interface of the SMC2.0 and choose Devices > Switch Centers. Click the corresponding SC in the SC list. On the Predefined Nodes tab page of the SC, view information about Last Registration Failure Reason. If "Node zone registration failed" is displayed, this type of error is generally caused by incorrect authentication user name or password. In this case, correct the user name or password.
  5. Alternatively, log in to the web interface of the endpoint, choose Maintenance > System Status, and view the GK registration information in Line Status. If "Incorrect authentication ID, user name, or password" is displayed, this type of error is generally caused by incorrect authentication user name or password. In this case, correct the user name or password.

Summary

  1. Verify the SC service and network connectivity between the SC and the endpoint.
  2. Ensure that the site number, authentication user name, and authentication password added on the SMC are the same as those configured on the endpoint.
