Connecting the PGND Cable

Connecting the PGND cable of the NIP6860 properly is essential for surge protection and interference resistance. Before using the NIP6860, correctly connect the PGND cable.


Before installing the PGND cable of the device, ensure that the PGND cable of the cabinet is correctly connected and the ground resistance is zero ohm.


Instruments required:
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Multimeter

If the chassis is close to the ground bar in the equipment room, connect the PGND cable of the chassis directly to the ground bar. If the chassis is far away from the ground bar, connect the PGND cable to the ground point on the cabinet.

In this section, connecting the PGND cable to the ground point on the cabinet is used as an example.


  1. Install the chassis ground cable, as shown in Figure 2-30. The tightening torque of the M8 screw is 12 N·m.
  2. Install the ground cable of the AC power chassis (which is mandatory for AC power supply), as shown in Figure 2-30. The tightening torque of the M8 screw is 12 N·m.

Follow-up Procedure

Verify the following:

  • The PGND cable is securely connected to the ground terminal.
  • The electrical resistance between the ground terminal and ground point is less than 0.1 ohm on a multimeter.
