Installing Power Cables - AC Power Distribution

Installing Power Cables - AC Power Distribution

In standard configuration, the NIP6830 has two AC power supply modules. Each module requires a power cable. This section describes how to connect power cables to the two AC supply modules.

Never install power cables when the power is on.

Before installing power cables, ensure that the device is adequately grounded.

With the 110 V AC power supply, the NIP6830 must use 110 V dual-live-wire AC input to meet the maximum system power consumption requirements with the full configuration. This is because AC power modules are half-load output with 110 V AC input, which cannot meet system power consumption requirements.

  1. Mark both ends of each power cable using a non-permanent marker.
  2. Install an AC power cable clip.

  3. Insert the AC power cable into the receptacle on the AC power module and close the cable clip around the plug. Insert the other end of the AC power cable into a socket or a power supply device on the top of the cabinet.

  4. Use cable ties to bind the cables at 100 mm intervals and fix the cables to the cabling rack from bottom to top.
  5. Affix permanent labels 20 mm from both ends of each power cable.

Follow-up Procedure

The power cable has polarity. After the device is powered on, if the PEM indicator blinks red, check whether the anode and cathode of the PEM power cable are properly connected. If they are not properly connected, immediately switch off the previous-stage power and properly connect the power cable.

  1. The power cables are fixed securely and have sufficient contact with the terminals.
  2. The cables in the corner are unbent.
  3. The power cable labels are filled in and attached to the cables as required. All labels are neat and face the same direction, allowing for easy viewing.
  4. The power cable, ground cable, and signal cable are bound separately. The distance between them must be greater than 3 cm.
