This section describes the DC power cables of the NIP6800 with DC power supply. Learn about the structure and specifications of the DC power cable before you make or purchase any power cables for the NIP6800.

DC Power Cable of the NIP6830

This section describes the DC power cable of the NIP6830.

Structure and Appearance

The DC power cable consists of a -48 V power cable NEG(-), and a cable RTN (+). The power cable transfers -48 V DC from the DC distribution equipment to the terminal block of the NIP6800 power module, supplying power for the NIP6800.

The DC power cables of the NIP6800 are delivered in an integrated way. Cut the power cables to adjust them according to site requirements. Figure 1-52 and Figure 1-53 show the two power cables.

DC cable terminals vary based on the device. Two commonly used terminals are the OT terminal and the JG2 double-hole terminal.

If the power supply distance is longer than 35 m, you must place the DC power distribution cabinet closer to the NIP6800.

Prepare cables according to the distance between the NIP6800and the power distribution cabinet.

Power Supply Distance Shorter Than or Equal to 15 m

If the power supply distance is shorter than or equal to 15 m, use the 16 mm2 power cable to connect the NIP and the DC power distribution cabinet.Table 1-87 lists the cable terminals and cable types.

If the power supply distance is longer than 15 m or shorter than or equal to 35 m, use the 25 mm2 power cable to connect in the NIP6830 and the DC power distribution cabinet. Table 1-88 lists the cable terminals and cable types.

DC Power Cable of the NIP6860

This section describes the DC power cable of the NIP6860.

DC power cable uses as:

  • DC-input power cable.
  • The cable between the AC power chassis and the device.
Structure and Appearance

The DC power cable consists of a -48 V power cable NEG(-), and a cable RTN (+). The power cable transfers -48 V DC from the DC distribution equipment to the terminal block of the NIP6800 power module, supplying power for the NIP6800.

The DC power cables of the NIP6800 are delivered in an integrated way. Cut the power cables to adjust them according to site requirements. Figure 1-56 and Figure 1-57 show the two power cables.

Prepare cables according to the distance between the NIP6800and the power distribution cabinet.

Power Supply Distance Shorter Than 3 m (Cables Between the AC power chassis and the NIP6860)

Place the AC power chassis as close to the device as possible. If the distance is shorter than or equal to 3 m, use the cabling scheme described in Table 1-89.
