ESD Prevention Requirements

The absolute value of electrostatic voltage must be less than 1000 V.

To ensure this, take the following measures:
  • Train operators on ESD prevention.
  • Maintain proper humidity in the equipment room to reduce the impact of static electricity.
  • Lay out ESD flooring in equipment rooms.
  • Put on antistatic shoes and clothing before entering an equipment room.
  • Use ESD tools, such as wrist straps, tweezers, and pliers.
  • Ground all conductive materials in the room, including computer terminals. Use antistatic worktables.
  • Keep non-antistatic materials (such as household bags, foams, and rubbers) at least 30 cm away from boards and ESD-sensitive components.
