Installing the Chassis into the Cabinet

Installing the Chassis into the Cabinet

You can mount the NIP6860 in a 19-inch standard cabinet using guide rails.

The Huawei cabinet (code: 02113041) is equipped with a pair of guide rails (code: 63120256). Adjustable guide rails (code: 21242246 and 21242247) are optional and not delivered with the NIP by default. You can purchase them as required.

  • The NIP6860 is heavy and requires four people to lift and move.
  • Use the handles on the chassis sides when moving the device. To avoid damaging the device, do not use the handles on modules.
  • Do not step on the air filter at the bottom of the cabinet.
The length of the adjustable guide rail (code: 21242246) ranges from 500 mm to 850 mm, and the guide rail can be installed in a cabinet whose depth ranges from 800 mm to 1200 mm. The length of the adjustable guide rail (code: 21242247) ranges from 370 mm to 585 mm, and the guide rail can be installed in a cabinet whose depth ranges from 600 mm to 800 mm. Before installing the adjustable guide rail, adjust the distance between the front and rear angle gauges (rack mounting rails/vertical columns) to satisfy the installation requirements.

  1. Install floating nuts and guide rails.
    1. Determine where to install floating nuts and mark the positions using a marker, as shown in Figure 2-26.
    2. Fix the floating nuts in the positions.
    3. Use M6 screws to fix the guide rails in position.
