Configuring Virtual Access EFM OAM

This section describes how to configure virtual access EFM OAM to implement link-level Ethernet OAM detection between a CE and AP.

Usage Scenario

EFM OAM is link-level OAM and monitors first-mile link connectivity. In virtual access scenarios, EFM OAM can be applied between a CE and AP that are directly connected to ensure the reliability and stability of connections between user and carrier networks. As shown in Figure 2-9, to monitor the connectivity of the link between the CE and AP that are directly connected, configure AP-side EFM OAM on the master.

Configuring Basic Virtual Access EFM OAM Functions

This section describes how to configure basic virtual access EFM OAM functions to detect connectivity faults on the link between a CE and AP that are directly connected.

Procedure

  1. Enable virtual access EFM OAM.
    1. Run system-view

      The system view is displayed.

    2. Run virtual-access

      The virtual access view is displayed.

    3. Run efm enable

      Virtual access EFM OAM is enabled.

      By default, EFM OAM is disabled in the virtual access view.

    4. Run commit

      The configuration is committed.

  2. Configure an EFM OAM working mode for a virtual access interface.

  3. (Optional) Configure virtual access EFM OAMPDU parameters.

  4. Enable EFM OAM on the virtual access interface.

Checking the Configurations

After configuring virtual access EFM OAM, check the configurations.

Prerequisites

Virtual access EFM OAM has been configured.

Procedure

  • Run the display efm master command to check all physical interfaces' EFM OAM configurations on a master.
  • Run the display efm ap-id ap-id command to check a specified virtual access interface's EFM OAM configurations on a master.
  • Run the display efm session master command to check all physical interfaces' EFM OAM session information on a master.
  • Run the display efm session ap-id ap-id command to check a specified virtual access interface's EFM OAM session information on a master.
  • Run the display efm link-event local master command to check all physical interfaces' local link event statistics on a master.
  • Run the display efm link-event local ap-id ap-id command to check a specified virtual access interface's local link event statistics on a master.
