NETCONF Proxy

NETCONF Proxy

NETCONF proxy provides a packet proxy capability.

A Huawei NETCONF server supports VS proxy. After an NMS establishes a connection with the NETCONF server, it directly connects to the Admin-VS. When you need to configure a non Admin-VS, the Admin-VS forwards the configuration packet to the non Admin-VS. After the non Admin-VS processes the packet, the Admin-VS forwards the reply message to the NMS.

  1. Use the NMS to query VS information. The <target> list is used to obtain target IDs of each VS.

    RPC request

    <rpc message-id="102" xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:netconf:base:1.0">
      <get>
        <filter>
          <proxy xmlns="urn:huawei:yang:huawei-netconf-proxy"/>
        </filter>
      </get>
    </rpc>

    RPC reply

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rpc-reply message-id="102" xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:netconf:base:1.0">
      <data>
        <proxy xmlns="urn:huawei:yang:huawei-netconf-proxy">
          <target-list>
            <target>vs=_admin_</target>
            <target-id>Admin-VS</target-id>
            <target-type>virtual-system-admin</target-type>
          </target-list>
          <target-list>
            <target>vs=vs1</target>
            <target-id>vs1</target-id>
            <target-type>virtual-system</target-type>
          </target-list>
        </proxy>
      </data>
    </rpc-reply>
  2. Use the NMS to configure a specific VS. The RPC request must carry the target-id attribute of the VS.

    RPC request

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <rpc xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:netconf:base:1.0" message-id="101"  xmlns:ncp="urn:huawei:yang:huawei-netconf-proxy" ncp:target="vs=vs1">
      <edit-config>
        <target>
          <running/>
        </target>
        <config>
          <aaa xmlns="http://www.huawei.com/netconf/vrp/huawei-aaa">
            <lam>
              <loginFailedLimit>
                <failedTimes>3</failedTimes>
                <period>5</period>
              </loginFailedLimit>
            </lam>
          </aaa>
        </config>
      </edit-config>
    </rpc>

    RPC reply

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rpc-reply message-id="102" ncp:target-id="vs=vs1" xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:netconf:base:1.0" xmlns:ncp="urn:huawei:yang:huawei-netconf-proxy">
      <ok/>
    </rpc-reply>
