Networking Principles

In nPath networking, the requests sent by the client to the server pass through the F5, but the data packet returned by the server to the client does not pass through the F5. This networking mode is called the n-path networking mode on the F5. The n-path networking is complex and has certain requirements for servers and applications. Therefore, this networking mode is not recommended unless otherwise specified.

The following figure shows the nPath networking.

The data flow is as follows:

  • It is used only in special scenarios (for example, the traffic from the client to the server is light but the traffic from the server to the client is heavy).
  • Data flows are asymmetric when passing through the F5.
