ALM-1101315 Local Pass-Through Disk Usage Exceeds the Threshold

ALM-1101315 Local Pass-Through Disk Usage Exceeds the Threshold

Description

FusionSphere OpenStack periodically (every 5 minutes by default) checks the usage of local pass-through disks in a host group. This alarm is generated when the number of local pass-through disks reaches 85% of the total number of local pass-through disks in the host group.

This alarm is cleared when the number of local pass-through disks is reduced to 70% of the total number of local pass-through disks in the host group.

Fault Location Info

aggregate_id: specifies the ID of the host group for which the alarm is generated.

Additional Info

  • Service: specifies the service for which the alarm is generated.
  • MicroService: specifies the microservice for which the alarm is generated.
  • aggregate_name: specifies the name of the host group for which the alarm is generated.
  • total: specifies the total number of local pass-through disks in the host group.
  • used: specifies the number of used local straight-through disks in the host group.
  • threshold: specifies the quantity threshold of the local straight-through disks in the host group.

Impact on the System

The local pass-through VMs may fail to be created because the local pass-through disk resources are insufficient.

Possible Causes

The usage of the local pass-through disks in the host group is too high.

Procedure

  1. Based on the alarm information, obtain the type of the local pass-through disks. On the server, add a local pass-through disk with the same type as that of the original pass-through disks for capacity expansion, or release unnecessary VMs that occupy local pass-through disks to release resources.
  2. Check whether the alarm is cleared when the usage of the local pass-through disks is lower than 70%.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 3.

  3. If any of the preceding operations fails, contact technical support for assistance.
