Possible Causes

  • The management plane network adapter is abnormal.
  • Floating IP addresses conflict with each other.

Procedure

  1. Possible cause 1: The management plane network adapter is abnormal.

    1. Log in to the backup manager or backup server GUI using a browser.

      Login address: https://IP address corresponding to the Workflow-Management-Float-IP field or IP address corresponding to the datamover_management_float_ip field:8088

      Default account: admin. Default password: Cloud12#$ for installation using HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy, and PXU9@ctuNov17! for manual installation.

    2. Choose Monitor > Server > HA Management > Modify HA Parameters. On the Modify HA Parameters page, view the configured floating IP address.
    3. Use PuTTY to log in to the eBackup server using the IP address of the server that reports the alarm.

      Default account: hcp. Default password: PXU9@ctuNov17!.

    4. Run the su root command and enter the password of user root to switch to user root.

      The default password of user root is Cloud12#$.

    5. If the IP address is an IPv4 address, go to 1.f. If the IP address is an IPv6 address, go to 1.i.
    6. Run the ifconfig command to check whether the mgr network adapter exists.
      • If yes, 2.
      • If no, 1.g.
    7. Run the ifconfig mgr up command to check whether the mgr network adapter can be started.
      • If yes, 1.h.
      • If no, contact technical support engineers.
    8. Wait for about 3 minutes and check whether the alarm is cleared on the current alarm page.
      • If yes, no further action is required.
      • If no, 2.
    9. Run the ifconfig command to check whether the floating IP address is in the information about the network adapter of the management plane.
      • If yes, 2.
      • If no, contact technical support engineers.

  2. Possible cause 2: Floating IP addresses conflict with each other.

    1. Use PuTTY to log in to the eBackup server using the IP address of the server that reports the alarm.

      Default account: hcp. Default password: PXU9@ctuNov17!.

    2. Run the su root command and enter the password of user root to switch to user root.

      The default password of user root is Cloud12#$.

    3. If the IP address is an IPv4 address, run the ping Floating IP address command. If the IP address is an IPv6 address, run the ping6 Floating IP address command. Check whether the IP addresses can be pinged.
      • If yes, 2.d.
      • If no, contact technical support engineers.
    4. Log in to the backup manager or backup server GUI using a browser.

      Login address: https://IP address corresponding to the Workflow-Management-Float-IP field or IP address corresponding to the datamover_management_float_ip field:8088

      Default account: admin. Default password: Cloud12#$ for installation using HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy, and PXU9@ctuNov17! for manual installation.

    5. Choose Monitor > Server > HA Management > Modify HA Parameters. On the Modify HA Parameters page, change the floating IP address.
    6. Wait for about 3 minutes and check whether the alarm is cleared on the current alarm page.
      • If yes, no further action is required.
      • If no, contact technical support engineers.
