ALM-70132 Memory Allocation Ratio of the Host Group Exceeds the Threshold

ALM-70132 Memory Allocation Ratio of the Host Group Exceeds the Threshold

Description

FusionSphere OpenStack periodically detects the memory allocation rate of the host group, every 5 minutes by default. This alarm is generated if the memory that is allocated reaches 85% of the total memory.

This alarm is cleared when the memory that is allocated drops below 70% of the total memory in the host group.

Fault Location Info

  • aggregate_id: specifies the ID of the host group for which the alarm is generated.

Additional Info

  • Service: specifies the service for which the alarm is generated.
  • MicroService: specifies the microservice for which the alarm is generated.
  • aggregate_name: specifies the name of the host group for which the alarm is generated.
  • memory_total: specifies the total memory size of the host group for which the alarm is generated.
  • memory_used: specifies the used memory of the host group for which the alarm is generated.
  • memory_overcommitment_ratio: specifies the memory overcommitment ratio of the host group for which the alarm is generated.
  • memory_threshold: specifies the memory threshold of the host group for which the alarm is generated.

Impact on the System

The VM fails to be created in the host group or VM HA malfunctions.

Possible Causes

The total resources in the host group are insufficient, the number of VMs is excessive, or a faulty host exists.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the host group name, total memory size of the host group, memory usage, and memory threshold in the alarm details.
  2. Obtain the ID of the host for which the alarm is generated.

    1. On Service OM, choose Services > Computing > ECS > Host Groups, locate the host group for which the alarm is generated, and click Host Management in the Operation column.
    2. On the page that is displayed, view the host ID.

  3. Use either of the following methods to increase the memory resources of the host group so that the total memory usage of the host group is lower than 70% and the alarm is cleared:

    1. Rectify the faulty host in the host group by referring to "Replacing a Host" in the HUAWEI CLOUD Stack 6.5.0 Parts Replacement.
    2. Delete redundant VMs to clear memory resources.
    3. Add the host to the host group based on "Adding Host Memory" in the HUAWEI CLOUD Stack 6.5.0 O&M Guide.

  4. If the alarm persists, contact technical support for assistance.
