Impact on the System

The backup or restore job fails.

Possible Causes

Physical connections are down between the backup proxy and the server where the protected environment resides.

Procedure

  1. Possible cause 1: Physical connections are down between the backup proxy and the server where the protected environment resides.

    1. On the current alarm page, check whether the alarm whose ID is 0x10E0140000 (Failed To Connect To The Protected Environment) or 0x10E0140001 (Failed To Scan A Protected Environment) is reported.
      • If yes, handle the alarm described in 1.a to ensure that the network connection between the backup proxy and production end is in the normal state.
    2. Run the /usr/bin/vbs_cli -c detachwithip -v VolumeName -i DSWareIP -p 0 command to manually unmount the volume. In this command, VolumeName indicates the volume name in the alarm details, and DSWareIP is the IP address of FusionStorage Manager. Then check whether ret_code=0 is displayed in the command output.
      • If yes, manually clear the alarm on the alarm page.
      • If no, contact technical support engineers.
